Queenstown

Queenstown sits on the shore of crystal clear Lake Wakatipu among dramatic ranges.  It is one of the top destinations in New Zealand and when you arrive there, you will understand why.  We loved taking sunrise and sunset photos around the lake where the atmosphere is always very relaxing.  And the best part is that there are no sand flies:-)

If you like salmon, you should book lunch or dinner at Skyline Gondola restaurant.  The food is very nice and the view from the top is amazing.  The whole Queenstown literally sits on your palm from up there.  For photography, make sure that you have a wide angle lens if you want to capture the whole town or create a panorama in post-processing. A 100 year old coal fired steamship still provides tourist trips on the lake Whakatipu.

Queenstown is a centre for adventure tourism. The lake and the mountain landscape make it suited to all kinds of adventure like skiing and snowboarding, jet boating, whitewater rafting, bungy jumping, mountain biking, skateboarding, tramping, parapenting, sky diving and fly fishing. Opportunities for photography are endless here.
