USA Photo Tour - June - July 2015 

(National Parks of Arizona, Utah, Nevada, California)

 

On this Photo Tour you'll see some of the most astonishing landscapes North America has to offer.   You'll find yourself standing between the free standing buttes and monoliths of Monument Valley which have been used as dramatic backdrop scenes for many Hollywood westerns. You'll be standing on the rim of the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon, walking between hoodoos with ever changing colours in Bryce Canyon.  Standing at the bottom of a deep canyon waiting for a beam of light to appear and capturing it on your camera is truly remarkable.  

 

Taking pictures of red glowing sandstone arches created by the patient erosion of several million years at sunset is simply unforgettable. Arches national park also contains fields of spires, pinnacles, domes and ridiculously balanced formations that seem to defy the laws of physics.  Hiking to Delicate Arch for sunset photography is something you will never forget.  You'll be thrilled to take sunrise and sunset pictures of the spectacular tufa towers on Mono Lake.  

 

Breathtaking scenery, roaring waterfalls and wildlife of Yosemite's national park is just another jewel of this tour.  And how can we forget to mention the giant sequoias!!  You will feel like a dwarf or Alice in Wonderland walking between these gentle giants.  We will also introduce you to the night photography with a sky so full of stars, you won't believe it.  Joshua Tree and Arches National Parks will be perfect for this.

 

After doing this tour many times we still find our jaws dropping each time we stand on the rim of a canyon and find it ever inspiring.

  • Travel Insurance (it is mandatory and you must provide the proof of your travel insurance before departure)

  • Car Hire - 4WD highly recommended

  • Camping equipment required (due to the nature of the Tour)

  • Fuel for your cars (approximate distance 4,000km +, fuel consumption depending on the car but approximately 12L/100km, petrol cost approximately $3.80 per gallon)

T-Travel Photography leaders will meet you in Los Angeles at 9am on Day 1.  After meet and great we will depart to Joshua Tree National Park, our first stop to many adventures.

 

 

Experience/Difficulty:

 

  • Beginner, Amateur, Enthusiast, Semi-professional

  • Very Busy Schedule, be prepared to get up early in the morning

  • Moderate amount of walking - several hikes in National Parks, some strenuous to be expected during this Photo Tour

  • Good fitness level required 

  • Must have valid international drivers license

  • ​Ocassionally be prepared to drive long distances in one day because of the vastness of National Parks in south-west of America

 

 

Weather/Sunrise/Sunset:

The temperatures in USA in July are quite pleasant but expect hot weather in areas like Death Valley or Arches.  Day temperatures are usually around 30C but in Death Valley and Arches can reach over 40C.
